Dual-Mode FMCW Harmonic Radar Supporting Auxiliary Transmitter Operation [PDF]

open access: yes2023 IEEE International Radar Conference (RADAR), 2023
In this paper, we propose a dual-mode FMCW harmonic radar capable of both harmonic and intermodulation operation. The presented system prototype operates in the Xband in the uplink (radar to the target) and the K-band in the downlink (target to the radar).

Effects of Reference Frequency Harmonic Spurs in FMCW Radar Systems

2021 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf21), 2021
Harmonic spurs in local oscillators can degrade the performance of millimeter-wave frequency-modulated continuous-wave radar systems that employ a large-ratio frequency multiplier for LO generation. In this paper, we analyze the effect caused by harmonic spurs on system performance.

Compact Low-cost FMCW Harmonic Radar for Short Range Insect Tracking

2020 IEEE International Radar Conference (RADAR), 2020
We present two frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) harmonic radar prototypes for application in insect tracking. They respectively operate in the maritime radar allocations of the S-band and X-band. Short-range operation ensures that the modules are compact enough to be used as portable instruments or even mounted onto an unmanned aerial vehicle
