Torsional rigidity of harmonic gear drives
Russian Engineering Research, 2016A model is proposed for harmonic gear drives. The model takes into account that harmonic engagement involves multiple pairs and multiple zones and also takes account of the manufacturing and assembly errors, the deformation of the drive components, and the adjustment of the gaps in the engagement under load.

In the present work the deformed pitch distances considering that flex spline teeth remain rigid while the rim deforms, are estimated.

Drives with harmonic gears for servo systems
Russian Engineering Research, 2016Various drives with harmonic gear systems and generators of internal and external deformation waves are considered. A method of designing harmonic gear systems on the basis of dialog-based interactive software is outlined. A systems approach to the design of electromechanical servo-system drives improves the design quality and reduces the design time.

Proceedings of the 1988 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics, 2005Harmonic gear drive, a compact mechanical device producing high mechanical advantage and speed reduction, has been used to accurately position the arms and wrists of robots. This device, operating on the principle of nonrigid body mechanicsr has been found to have positioning errors. Such errors, inherent in the drive, adversely affect the performance.

Development of magnetic harmonic gear with stackable structure
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, 2016A new type magnetic harmonic gear is proposed. The new magnetic gear has the stackable structure and is assembled easily. The proposed magnetic gear has stacked ring magnets and thin iron plates for the inner and outer rotors. And the two types of the inner and the outer rotors are compared.
