How Are “Financial Balances” Financed? Wicksell, (Keynes) and the US Mainstream Don't Fit Today's Institutions; Kalecki, Triffin, and Minsky Got it Right

open access: yesMetroeconomica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The paper examines the financial balances of the US economy. Government is the main borrower and households and the foreign sector the main lenders. Business net lending is minimal. The balances and their underlying transactions contradict the loanable funds theory and its “global savings glut” variation.

Alloxazine derivatives as multifunctional agents for photodynamic therapy, cancer cell imaging, and cell proliferation inhibition

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Alloxazine photosensitizers, molecularly engineered through sugar conjugation and methoxy substitution to enhance solubility, photodynamic potency, and fluorescence, enable image‐guided photodynamic therapy while inhibiting cancer cell growth in the absence of photoactivation.

Energetic microdomains and the vascular control of neuronal and muscle excitability: Toward a unified model

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The capillary–mitochondria–ion channel (CMIC) axis scales structural resources to match functional workload. (Left) In settings of restricted energetic capacity (e.g. cortical neurons), sparse capillary networks and modest mitochondrial pools set a lower energetic ceiling, sufficient to support phasic, low‐workload excitability. Damping Modification Factors for Pile–Induced Filtering Effect

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, Volume 55, Issue 4, Page 907-925, 10 April 2026.
ABSTRACT Period–dependent Damping Modification Factors are usually applied to the 5%–damped pseudo–acceleration response spectrum at free field conditions to derive the seismic demand for structures with damping ratio other than 5%. Likewise, the response spectrum at the foundation level of pile–supported structures may differ from the free field ...

Deep Learning Empowered Microstructure Codebook: New Paradigm for Multi‐Parameter Tissue Characterization Estimation

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 5, 1 April 2026.
We propose DEMIC, a deep‐learning microstructure codebook framework for dMRI microstructure imaging: (1) accurate multi‐parameter estimation from undersampled data; (2) robust cross‐protocol and cross‐model generalization; and (3) flexible transfer to new microstructural indices via fine‐tuning.
