Harmonic Transfers for Quantifying Propagation of Harmonics in Wind Power Plants [PDF]

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
In this paper, primary and secondary emissions in wind power plants are studied by using transfer admittance and current transfer functions between turbines and the public grid. The use of such transfer functions allows harmonic propagation studies without knowledge of the emission from individual turbines or the background voltage distortion.

Brushless Excitation Principle and Experimental Verification of Hybrid Excitation Synchronous Generator Based on Harmonic Magnetic Field

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
It is well known that the air-gap magnetic field of the permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is difficult to adjust. To overcome this challenge while maintaining the brushless feature of PMSGs, a hybrid excitation synchronous generator (HESG ...

High-Efficient Brushless Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine Topology Based on Sub-Harmonic Field-Excitation Technique

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
This paper presents a new high-efficient three-phase brushless wound rotor synchronous machine (BL-WRSM) based on a sub-harmonic field excitation technique. In the proposed machine topology, the stator is equipped with two different three-phase windings:

Theory of symmetric winding distributions and a general method for winding MMF harmonic analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
One of the main challenges in motor design is the winding layout, including winding distributions and magnetomotive force (MMF) harmonic analysis. Considering some shortcomings in the existing theories for winding distributions and difficulties in ...

Harmonics in a wind power plant [PDF]

open access: yes2015 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting, 2015
Wind power generation has been growing at a very fast pace for the past decade, and its influence and impact on the electric power grid is significant. As in a conventional power plant, a wind power plant (WPP) must ensure that the quality of the power being delivered to the grid is excellent.

Harmonic Measure and Winding of Conformally Invariant Curves [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2002
The exact joint multifractal distribution for the scaling and winding of the electrostatic potential lines near any conformally invariant scaling curve is derived in two dimensions. Its spectrum f(alpha, lambda) gives the Hausdorff dimension of the points where the potential scales with distance $r$ as $H \sim r^α$ while the curve logarithmically ...

Dual-Inverter-Controlled Brushless Operation of Wound Rotor Synchronous Machines Based on an Open-Winding Pattern

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
In an open-winding machine, three-phase stator currents can be controlled such that the input armature currents may contain the third-harmonic current component in addition to the fundamental.
