Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Coherent State Path Integral for Bloch Particle

open access: yes, 2001
We construct a coherent state path integral formalism for the one-dimensional Bloch particle within the single band model. The transition amplitude between two coherent states is a sum of transition amplitudes with different winding numbers on the two ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Synchronous reluctance machines with new type of fractional‐slot concentrated‐windings based on the concept of stator slot shifting

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, 2023
Fractional‐slot concentrated‐windings are appreciated for their simple construction, short end‐winding length, high copper fill factor, low cogging torque, good field‐weakening capability and fault‐tolerant ability.

Analysis of DC Winding Induced Voltage in Wound-Rotor Synchronous Machines by Using the Air-Gap Field Modulation Principle

open access: yesWorld Electric Vehicle Journal, 2022
In order to analyze the DC winding induced voltage in the wound-rotor synchronous machine, this paper uses the air-gap field modulation principle to investigate its operation mechanism and harmonic order.

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

Parameter Calculation and Working Characteristic Analysis of a New Type of Magnetic Integrated CRT

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The working characteristic of an electromagnetic equipment is an important reference standard for measuring its working performance. In this paper, we take a new type of magnetic integrated controllable reactor of transformer type (CRT) as the research ...

Detection of inter-turn faults in multi-phase ferrite-PM assisted synchronous reluctance machine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Inter-turn winding faults in five-phase ferrite-permanent magnet-assisted synchronous reluctance motors (fPMa-SynRMs) can lead to catastrophic consequences if not detected in a timely manner, since they can quickly progress into more severe short-circuit

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...
