Exact Robust Filtering and Differentiation Based on Sliding Modes and Homogeneity

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article addresses the problem of online estimation of the derivatives of a signal corrupted by measurement noise. The measured signal is modeled as the sum of a smooth nominal component and a uniformly bounded noise term. A key objective is to attenuate the effect of high‐frequency noise.

Laser‐Direct Printed 2D Material‐Based Heterostructure for the Fabrication of Electronic Devices

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The Digital Laser‐Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) approach is employed to pattern and stack 2D materials with micrometer‐scale precision. PdSe2 and MoSe2 are assembled into vertical p–n junctions, with graphene serving as a transparent electrode. The resulting laser‐transferred heterostructures exhibit high material quality and stable rectifying ...

A Preventive Static Security Control Strategy for Distribution Networks Based on Phase Shifting Transformer Loop‐Closing Devices

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, EarlyView.
As the share of renewable energy in the energy mix continues to increase, the penetration of distributed renewable generation in distribution networks is also rising steadily. Loop‐closing operation provides an effective means to enhance renewable energy accommodation across different grid partitions.

Home range and core area characteristics of urban and rural coyotes and red foxes in southern Wisconsin

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Second‐order habitat selection is influenced by a variety of factors, including individual‐ and species‐specific traits and resource requirements, as well as landscape characteristics. By comparing home range characteristics across individuals, species, and landscapes, we can draw conclusions regarding whether and how different factors influence home ...

Convexity of limits of harmonic measures

open access: yes, 2006
It is shown that, given a point $x\in\mathbbm{R}^d$, $d\ge 2$, and open sets $U_1,...,U_k$ containing $x$, any convex combination of the harmonic measures for $x$ with respect to $U_n$, $1\le n\le k$, is the limit of a sequence of harmonic measures for $x$ with respect to open subsets $W_m$ of $U_1\cup... \cup U_k$ containing $x$.

Determination of the one‐electron reduced Wigner function for a molecular crystal

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section A, EarlyView.
The first reconstruction of an experimental one‐particle reduced Wigner function for electrons in molecular crystals is reported. It relies on an ensemble N‐representable model jointly refined from the X‐ray diffraction and Compton scattering data. The Wigner function provides a complete phase‐space representation of a quantum state.

A Lightweight Deep Neural Network for Individual Leopard Identification: Supporting Movement Ecology in the Taihang Mountains of Henan

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
We developed LeoNet, a lightweight deep learning model for leopard individual identification. It achieved 97.42% accuracy and was robust to age‐related pattern changes and unfamiliar individuals. Applied to camera‐trap data from the Taihang Mountains, LeoNet identified 41 wild North China leopards and generated individual‐level records to support ...
