Highly reliable harmony search algorithm
2009 European Conference on Circuit Theory and Design, 2009In this paper, after a literature overview, studies will be concentrated on Pitch Adjustment Ratio function of Harmony Search Algorithm. A more rational function will be proposed which increase the robustness of algorithm and therefore leads to a highly reliable algorithm Simulations on a set of Standard TSP Problems, demonstrates that Parameter of ...

The Opposition-based Harmony Search Algorithm
Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series B, 2013This paper proposes a novel approach to accelerate the harmony search (HS) algorithm. The proposed opposition-based HS of the present work employs opposition-based learning for harmony memory initialization and also for the generation jumping. In the present work, opposite numbers have been utilized to improve the convergence rate of the HS.

Adaptive genetic algorithm using harmony search
Proceedings of the 12th annual conference on Genetic and evolutionary computation, 2010Evolutionary algorithm is one of the major classes of stochastic search methods. This algorithm searches the problem space by exploring and exploiting the search space. The balance between exploration and exploitation will change throughout the search process.

Semi-self-adaptive harmony search algorithm
Natural Computing, 2017This paper proposes a semi-self-adaptive harmony search algorithm (SSaHS) with the self-adaptive adjustment of the bandwidth and the elitist learning strategy of particle swarm optimization. SSaHS employs a self-adaptive adjusting strategy for with the difference between the maximum and minimum components in the harmony memory as the bandwidth.

Fine-grained Differential Harmony Search algorithm
2015 IEEE 14th International Conference on Cognitive Informatics & Cognitive Computing (ICCI*CC), 2015A novel Fine-grained Differential Harmony Search algorithm (FDHS) is presented in this paper. The new algorithm incorporates differential mutation scheme with the pitch adjustment operator of Harmony Search (HS) algorithm. Meanwhile a fine-grained evaluation strategy is adopted inside pitch adjustment on every dimension instead of construction ...

Music Composition Using Harmony Search Algorithm
2007Music pieces have been composed using a behavior-inspired evolutionary algorithm, harmony search (HS). The HS algorithm mimics behaviors of music players in an improvisation process, where each player produces a pitch based on one of three operations (random selection, memory consideration, and pitch adjustment) in order to find a better state of ...

Clustering using modified harmony search algorithm
International Journal of Computational Intelligence Studies, 2014Metaheuristic techniques are being successfully used as optimisation methods in various application areas. This paper presents modification in one such metaheuristic called as harmony search HS that is inspired from music improvisation process. The two parameters, harmony memory consideration rate HMCR and pitch adjusting rate PAR, in HS play important

Data Clustering Using Harmony Search Algorithm
2011Being one of the main challenges to clustering algorithms, the sensitivity of fuzzy c-means (FCM) and hard c-means (HCM) to tune the initial clusters centers has captured the attention of the clustering communities for quite a long time. In this study, the new evolutionary algorithm, Harmony Search (HS), is proposed as a new method aimed at addressing ...
