Considerations for Hartmann’s reversal and Hartmann’s reversal outcomes—a multicenter study
International Journal of Colorectal Disease, 2017Hartmann's procedure is commonly practiced in emergent cases with the restoration of bowel continuity planned at a second stage. This study assessed the rate of restorations following Hartmann's procedure and evaluated factors affecting decision-making.Data on patient demographics, comorbidities, causes for Hartmann's procedure, reversal rate, and ...

Null Hartmann and Ronchi-Hartmann tests
Applied Optics, 1990Assuming the Ronchi and the Hartmann tests to be null tests, we were able to design special screens for each test that produce aligned straight fringes and a square array for the observed patterns. It also became clear that the screen filter and observing planes for both tests can be interchanged.

Modal integration of Hartmann and Shack–Hartmann patterns
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2014Instead of measuring the wavefront deformations directly, Hartmann and Shack-Hartmann tests measure the wavefront slopes, which are equivalent to the ray transverse aberrations. Numerous different integration methods have been described in the literature to obtain the wavefront deformations from these measurements.

Zonal processing of Hartmann or Shack–Hartmann patterns

Numerous different integration methods have been described in the literature to obtain the wavefront deformations from these measurements.

AbstractSince 1921, when Henry Hartmann first described his procedure for rectal carcinoma, multiple modifications of the original technique have been proposed. However, the basic principle of a rectal pouch has always been retained. Two cases of carcinoma developing in such a pouch are described; both occurred years after creation of the pouch.

Henri Hartmann and the Hartmann Operation
Archives of Surgery, 1980Reference to the "Hartmann operation" for diverticulitis of the sigmoid colon is found with increasing frequency in the current medical literature. In principle, this operation consists of the removal of a segment of colon containing an acutely inflamed area of diverticulitis, with or without perforation or fistula.

Hartmann's operation for rectal cancer is a term that has been misapplied. Complications have occurred when the rectal stump has been too long and the blood supply has been insufficient for clean healing. That is not what Hartmann described. His procedure was to transect the rectum and to close it at, or below, the peritoneal reflection, which is where

The utility of the hartmann procedure
The American Journal of Surgery, 1998In 1923 the French surgeon Henri Hartmann described an operation for rectosigmoid cancer as an alternative to abdomino-perineal resection for high-risk patients. In the subsequent years, the indications for performing the Hartmann procedure have broadened to include complicated diverticulitis, ischemic bowel, iatrogenic perforations, volvulus, and ...

Laparoscopic Hartmann’s Procedure and Hartmann’s Reversal Procedure
1995The impact of laparoscopy on colorectal surgery has been steadily increasing. Procedures which were recently considered impossible are now performed universally as more experience has been gained, and advanced instrumentation has been made available.

Hartmann's Procedure: An Appraisal
Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 1993Ninety-seven patients underwent Hartmann's procedure between 1981 and 1986 at the University Hospital, Nottingham. Sixty-one (63%) required this operation as an emergency procedure. There was an overall mortality of 22% and the morbidity rate was 56%.
