Design and Experiment with a Double-Roller Sweet Potato Vine Harvester
The yield of sweet potato vines is large, making it a good source of food. However, it is difficult to harvest sweet potato vines due to creeping and intertwining.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Dynamic model of a harvester equipped with a rope anchor system during logging operations on a steep slope [PDF]
The efficiency of using logging machines for work in mountainous or hilly areas characterized by the presence of steep slopes depends on many factors, among which the quantitative parameters of the dynamic state of both the harvester itself and the ...

Comparison of different stack measuring methods [PDF]
In the last decades different methods have been developed for measuring piled wood, i.e. wood stacks. There are two main groups of measurements: the first one is manual methods and the second one is automatic measurements.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Automating forest machines to optimize the forest value chain requires the ability to map the surroundings of the machine and to conduct accurate measurements of nearby trees. In the near-to-medium term, integrating a forest harvester with a mobile laser

Features of harvesting machinery operation on weak soils in the Far East Region
The authors based on own researches established actual problems of harvesting in the Amur region: ensuring passability of machines on the waterlogged soil, need of machines adaptivising to technologies of soybean harvesting, transfer of a part of the ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

The influence of the harvester manipulator design characteristics on the working area optimal size [PDF]
The efficiency of using logging machines on a steep slope depends on many factors, including the working area of the manipulator, which can be implemented in various technological modes of operation.
