Energy harvesting from pressured water flow with IoT monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Energy harvesting are required in order to improve the green technology. Energy harvesting or also known as power harvesting is the process where the energy is gain from the outside source for example solar energy, heat energy, wind energy and kinetic

Optimal harvesting patterns for a seaweed harvester [PDF]

open access: yesIET Irish Signals and Systems Conference (ISSC 2009), 2009
In this paper, a 9 degree of freedom seaweed harvester dynamical model is presented. The model presented describes the coupled dynamics of a vessel and a harvesting device, lifted by a winch, subject to sea waves disturbances. In order to find an appropriate harvesting path, which minimizes the harvester motions, the model response is simulated for ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Comparison of the gravimetric sampling and impedance methods for measuring soil moisture content

open access: yesMetsanduslikud Uurimused, 2015
This paper was focused on determining whether gravimetric sampling and impedance method of measuring soil moisture content provided different results and if they did, what was the size of the differences between particular methods on rendzinas and ...

Is the BEHI Index (Part of the BANCS Model) Good for Prediction of Streambank Erosion?

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2016
Sedimentation of waterways and reservoirs, decreasing quality of drinking water and costs necessary for maintenance of these objects directly related to streambank erosion.

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Experimentally Verified Analytical Models of Piezoelectric Cantilevers in Different Design Configurations

open access: yesSensors, 2021
This paper deals with analytical modelling of piezoelectric energy harvesting systems for generating useful electricity from ambient vibrations and comparing the usefulness of materials commonly used in designing such harvesters for energy harvesting ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Harvesting Knowledge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
{Excerpt} If 80% of knowledge is unwritten and largely unspoken, we first need to elicit that before we can articulate, share, and make wider use of it.
