Ultra Short Osteotomy With Mortise‐Tenon Diaphyseal Prosthesis Reconstruction for Forearm Metastases: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
A novel mortise‐tenon diaphyseal prosthesis enables ultra‐short osteotomy for forearm bone metastases, providing stable fixation with significant pain relief and functional recovery. This approach preserves bone stock and demonstrates excellent safety, with no implant failure, local recurrence, or major complications during mid‐ to long‐term follow‐up.

Enhancing Tolerance to Combined Heat and Drought Stress in Cool‐Season Grain Legumes: Mechanisms, Genetic Insights, and Future Directions

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The increasing frequency of concurrent heat and drought stress poses a significant challenge to agricultural productivity, particularly for cool‐season grain legumes, including broad bean (Vicia Faba L.), lupin (Lupinus spp.), lentil (Lens culinaris Medik), chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.), grasspea (Lathyrus sativus L.), pea (Pisum sativum L ...

Engineered surface strategies to manage dental implant‐related infections

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract When exposed to the oral environment, dental implants, like natural surfaces, become substrates for microbial adhesion and accumulation, often leading to implant‐related infections—one of the main causes of implant failure. These failures impose significant costs on patients, clinicians, and healthcare systems.

From senescence and inflammaging to systemic comorbidities: Drivers of aging‐associated periodontitis

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Aging is accompanied by a chronic low‐grade inflammatory process, known as inflammaging, as well as immunosenescence, an age‐related decline and dysregulation of immune function, and cellular senescence, a process in which cells enter a state of irreversible growth arrest while actively releasing pro‐inflammatory factors.

All Is Relative—A Call for Considering “Physiologically Informed” Control Conditions to Improve the Mechanistic Understanding of the Effects of Physical Exercise on Cognition

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Psychology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT There is a growing interest in elucidating the mechanisms that drive the benefits of physical exercise on cognitive performance. A key element for a better understanding of a particular phenomenon (e.g., the mediators of the exercise‐cognition interaction) is the selection of an appropriate control condition/group as the basis for causal ...
