Construction and Use of Fragment-Augmented Molecular Hasse Diagrams

Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling, 2014
Collections of molecules can be organized in many different ways based on substructures that are common to two or more of the molecules. The article describes a method that builds on the ideas of partial orders and Hasse diagrams and which organizes molecules in a particularly simple and natural way using only sub- and superstructure relations.

Hasse Diagrams in Statistical Consulting and Teaching

The American Statistician, 1995
Abstract Hasse diagrams summarize the structure of mixed models and can be used by a statistical consultant to help design a complicated experiment or to help clarify the structure of data to be analyzed. They are also useful in the classroom as an aid for obtaining expected mean squares or deciding which denominator should be used in an F statistic.

Classification of finite groups with birdcage-shaped Hasse diagrams

Osaka Journal of Mathematics, 2021
In this paper, the author classifies finite groups for which the Hasse diagram of the lattice of subgroups is the union from a set of paths from the trivial group to the full group and which are disjoint otherwise. It is shown that the finite groups with this property are exactly the cyclic groups of prime power order and semidirect products of two ...

Ranking Using the Copeland Score: A Comparison with the Hasse Diagram

Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling, 2010
This study concerns the problem of ranking objects (chemicals, projects, databases, etc.) when a number of indicators are available for these objects that convey different comparative information. There is no unique way to rank these objects while taking all indicators into account.

Using Hasse Diagrams for Competence-Oriented Learning Analytics

2013
Learning analytics refers to the process of collecting, analyzing, and visualizing (large scale) data about learners for the purpose of understanding and pro-actively optimizing teaching strategies. A related concept is formative assessment – the idea of drawing information about a learner from a broad range of sources and on a competence-centered ...

Synthesizing Petri Nets from Hasse Diagrams

2017
Synthesis aims at producing a process model from specified sample executions. A user can specify a set of executions of a system in a specification language that is much simpler than a process modeling language. The intended process model is then constructed automatically.

Hasse Diagrams, Poset Theory and Fuzzy Poverty Measures

Rivista internazionale di scienze sociali : 1, 2008, 2008
It is generally agreed that poverty cannot be faithfully represented by a single monetary measure. Poverty involves many different aspects of life and people can be poor in different ways, to different degrees and from several points of view. For this reason, fuzzy multidimensional indicators have been proposed to measure material deprivation. However,

Hasse Diagrams and their Relation to Molecular Periodicity

2006
Hasse diagrams are applied to molecules and radiation phenomena. Then the relation of these diagrams to periodicity in atoms is noted. The possibility is raised that Hasse diagrams can also be related to the growing body of evidence that periodicity exists in molecules with two, three, and four atoms; in binary inorganic molecules; and in some organic ...
