The effects of dietary factors on the development and viability of avian embryos have been extensively documented. A good nutritional status of the parent birds is crucial to the transfer to the egg of an adequate, balanced supply of nutrients required for normal development of the embryo.

Effect on Hatchability of Fish Meal Fed to Hens Deficient in the Unidentified Hatchability Factor
Abstract VARIOUS workers have shown that fish meal and other animal products contain an unidentified hatchability factor(s) that is absent in plant products. Lampman and associates (1944) have shown that rations supplemented only with plant proteins, such as soybean oil meal, resulted in reduced hatchability.

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.
