Characterization of a simian hepatitis A virus (HAV): antigenic and genetic comparison with human HAV [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Virology, 1989
PA21, a strain of hepatitis A virus (HAV) recovered from a naturally infected captive owl monkey, is indistinguishable from human HAV in polyclonal radioimmunoassays and cross-neutralization studies. However, cDNA-RNA hybridization has suggested a significant difference at the genomic level between PA21 and a reference human virus, HM175.

HAV golestan2018.pdf [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Background: HepatitisAis a virus with linearandpositive strand RNA. AsHAVhasnoenvelope, it ismoreresistant to environmentalstress than other hepatitis viruses, and it can be transmitted by water and food. HAV infection is acquired commonly by the fecaloralroute and in adults, it can leave very serious complications, including fulminate hepatitis.

Identification of hepatitis a virus mimotopes by phage display, antigenicity and immunogenicity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A phage-displayed peptide approach was used to identify ligands mimicking antigenic determinants of hepatitis A virus (HAV) for the first time. Bacteriophages displaying HAV mimotopes were isolated from a phage-display peptide library by affinity ...

High Incidence of Acute Liver Failure among Patients in Egypt Coinfected with Hepatitis A and Hepatitis E Viruses

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2023
Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and Hepatitis E virus (HEV) are transmitted through the fecal–oral route. HAV outbreaks and one HEV outbreak have been reported in Egypt. However, the impact of HAV–HEV co-infection is not known.

Hav, fisk og ressursforvaltning i nordområdene

open access: yesInternasjonal Politikk, 2020
