Wireless, Adaptable and Fully Implantable Battery‐powered Devices for Optical Stimulation of the Spinal Cord in Small Rodents

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current technologies for spinal cord optogenetic stimulation rely on external power sources and face reliability constraints in freely behaving animals. Here, a fully implantable, battery‐powered optoelectronic device is introduced, enabling operation in any selected environment with wireless recharging for months‐long stimulation.

Electrostatic Self‐Assembly Induced Nest‐Like MXene Networks on Fabric for Ultra‐Broadband Flexible Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, an electrostatically self‐assembled WPU‐MXene@FC flexible fabric constructs a “nest‐like” structure on fibers, building construct MXene multiple loss paths, achieving ultra‐wideband absorption of 25.3–1200 GHz in a thickness of 1.8 mm, while also exhibiting superhydrophobicity, acid and alkali resistance, and bending resistance ...

Hawking-Page transition in 4D Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
This paper delves into the Hawking-Page phase transitions of charged Anti-de Sitter (AdS) black holes within the context of four-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity are presented. Reentrant Hawking-Page phase transition, alongside triple points are

Debunking Common Myths & Misconceptions About NMC Positive Electrode Materials for Li‐ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
LiNixMnyCozO2 (NMC) and LiNixCoyAlzO2 (NCA) remain the choice for high‐energy‐density lithium‐ion battery positive electrode materials, yet many myths persist surrounding them. Herein, four common misconceptions are tackled to better inform the lithium‐ion battery field.

Carroll-Hawking effect

open access: yesPhysical Review D
Carroll black holes with an associated Carroll temperature were introduced recently. So far, it is unclear if they exhibit a Hawking-like effect. To solve this, we study scalar fields on Carroll black hole backgrounds. Inspired by anomaly methods, we derive a Hawking-like energy-momentum tensor compatible with the Carroll temperature and the Stefan ...

Circularity, Sustainability, and the Quality of Coffee Sold via Vending Machines: What Do Italian Consumers Prefer?

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Vending is an important sector in the daily lives of many people, and coffee is the most frequently consumed product in the European market. Like many other sectors, vending is responding to the challenge of sustainable development by taking various actions, such as offering increasingly ecologically sound coffee while maintaining/improving ...
