Seismic Hazard Analysis

2018
This chapter highlights the significance of Ground Motion Prediction Equations to estimate the seismic hazard at a region based on earthquake magnitude and source to site distance. A glimpse of both deterministic and probabilistic approaches for hazard assessment is presented along with a discussion on the logic tree framework.

Initial hazard analysis

IEEE Technical Applications Conference. Northcon/96. Conference Record, 2002
As medical electronic devices and systems become more complex and ubiquitous, various techniques from other industries are adopted to improve device and system quality. One example is hazard analysis. Hazard analysis examines system hazards. The initial phase of one hazard analysis process for use on medical devices is described below. Proactive use of

Hazard criticality analysis

Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 1978
Many techniques can be used for the surveillance and monitoring of process plant as a basis for integrity control associated with on‐condition maintenance and safety appraisal, reference 1, but before any technique is chosen an analysis must be made which rates the hazard in terms of its criticality and thus establish the situation with the greatest ...
