Electrical hazard analysis

IEEE Industry Applications Magazine, 2006
The subject of electrical hazards analysis has been recognized by a small segment of the electrical industry for many years. The petrochemical industry and many government institutions have performed research on this subject for over twenty years. For the most part however, the electrical industry, at least at the user level, has largely ignored the ...

Spatial correlations of ground motion for non‐ergodic seismic hazard analysis

Earthquake engineering & structural dynamics (Print), 2019
Traditional probabilistic seismic hazard analysis (PSHA) uses ground‐motion models that are based on the ergodic assumption, which means that the distribution of ground motions over time at a given site is the same as their spatial distribution over ...

Methodology and case study of quantitative preliminary hazard analysis based on cloud model

Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, 2019
Preliminary hazard analysis (PHA) is an effective method to identify and evaluate hazards in a system. Then, prevention measures can be set according to assessment results.

Seismicity Declustering and Hazard Analysis of the Oklahoma–Kansas Region

Bulletin of The Seismological Society of America (BSSA), 2019
This study is an evaluation of the suitability of several declustering method for induced seismicity and their impacts on hazard analysis of the Oklahoma–Kansas region. We considered the methods proposed by Gardner and Knopoff (1974), Reasenberg (1985),

A resilience-based integrated process systems hazard analysis (RIPSHA) approach: Part II management system layer

Chemical engineering research & design, 2018
The Chemical Process Industry has witnessed an increase in process safety challenges and changes in the global public perception of risk. The key hazard identification and analysis methods used in the industry follow a univariate analysis which limits ...

Seismic Hazard Analysis

2021
This section explains the fundamentals of seismic hazard analysis as part of earthquake engineering. According to Elnashai and Di Sarno (Fundamentals of earthquake engineering: from source to fragility. Wiley, London, 2015), Earthquake Engineering is a branch of engineering concerned with the estimation of earthquake consequences and the mitigation of ...

Seismic Hazard Analysis

2018
This chapter highlights the significance of Ground Motion Prediction Equations to estimate the seismic hazard at a region based on earthquake magnitude and source to site distance. A glimpse of both deterministic and probabilistic approaches for hazard assessment is presented along with a discussion on the logic tree framework.

K Basins hazard analysis

2002
The 105-K East (KE) and 105-K West (KW) Basins in the 100 K Area of the Hanford Site have been used for storage of irradiated N Reactor and single-pass reactor fuel. Remaining spent fuel is continuing to be stored underwater in racks and canisters in the basins while fuel retrieval activities proceed to remove the fuel from the basins.
