Tests for Reversed Hazard Rate Function
Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 2003The reversed hazard rate Junction of a random variable, defined as tlw ratio of the density to its distribution function, plays an important role in analyzing left-censored data. In this paper we develop tests based on the empirical distribution function for an assigned reversed hazard rate function against a onesided alternative and two different ...

Multivariate conditional hazard rate functions – an overview
Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, 2014In this paper, we describe the usefulness and the applications of the multivariate conditional hazard rate functions. First, we define these, as well as the accumulated hazard functions, and then give some properties of them. Using these definitions and properties, we describe the total hazard construction and its main traits. Using the technical tools

Hazard rate function in dynamic environment
Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2014Abstract The hazard rate function is always applied to make maintenance policy, and the usual hazard rate function is computed by the data of failure times of systems working in constant environment, thus for systems working in dynamic environment it cannot be directly applied.

Distributions with known initial hazard rate functions
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1999The purpose of this paper is to study the distributional properties of a non-negative random vector \({\mathbf X}= (X_1,X_2)\), based only on initial hazard rate functions. Section 2 investigates stochastic orderings for random vectors that have the same initial hazard rate function.

Generating Continuous Random Variates From a Hazard Rate Function
IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1985Three methods are discussed to generate continuous non-negative random variates from a given hazard rate function: a) inverse Cdf, b) acceptance/rejection, and c) thinning.

A functional proportional hazard cure rate model for interval-censored data
Statistical Methods in Medical Research, 2021Existing survival models involving functional covariates typically rely on the Cox proportional hazards structure and the assumption of right censorship. Motivated by the aim of predicting the time of conversion to Alzheimer’s disease from sparse biomarker trajectories in patients with mild cognitive impairment, we propose a functional mixture cure ...

Hazard Functions, Renewal Rates and Peril Rates
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1970<div class="htmlview paragraph">Reliability models appropriate to 1) non-repairable parts, 2) sockets and 3) repairable systems are presented. It is shown that a renewal process is usually appropriate as a model for a socket but generally is implausible as a repairable system model. Several models for repairable systems are proposed.

Heuristic Active Queue Management with Hazard rate function
2011 Eighth International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD), 2011This paper presents a heuristic packet loss approach based on Adaptive Random Early Detection (ARED) mechanism to maintain the instantaneous queue length in the buffer and estimate the packet dropping probability. The proposed scheme named as Hazard rate based Heuristic ARED (HHA) by utilizing the hazard rate function of Weibull distribution in ARED ...
