Mechanisms and therapeutic opportunities of the ribotoxic stress response in cancer
Cancer cells' high translational demand creates opportunities to therapeutically target ribosome function. Ribosome stalling and collisions activate ZAKα and the ribotoxic stress response (RSR), which can trigger rapid, p53‐independent apoptosis in cancer.

This study integrates publicly available transcriptomic datasets to identify molecular signatures associated with response to neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy in locally advanced rectal cancer. By analyzing a combination of multiple cohorts with bioinformatics approaches, we reveal biological pathways and immune‐related features that may improve ...

Existence and monotonicity of solutions to moral hazard problems. [PDF]
This paper provides a method to prove existence of solutions to some moral hazard problems with infinite set of outcomes. The argument is based on the concept of nondecreasing rearrangement and on a supermodular version of Hardy–Littlewood’s inequality ...

Stochastic Orderings between Two Finite Mixtures with Inverted-Kumaraswamy Distributed Components
In this paper, we consider two finite mixture models (FMMs) with inverted-Kumaraswamy distributed components’ lifetimes. Several stochastic ordering results between the FMMs are obtained.

Likelihood Based Inference for Cause Specific Hazard Rates under Order Restrictions
We consider the competing risks model with grouped data or with discrete failure times where a unit is exposed to several risks, but its eventual failure is due to exactly one of the causes. We assume a discrete-time framework and allow for independent random censoring on the right.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

A rule-of-thumb for the variable bandwidth selection in kernel hazard rate estimation [PDF]
In nonparametric curve estimation the decision about the type of smoothing parameter is critical for the practical performance. The nearest neighbor bandwidth as introduced by Gefeller and Dette 1992 for censored data in survival analysis is specified by
