Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 6, Page 1643-1660, June 2026.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Expanding ‘handover-HCI’: Proposing a novel HCI research agenda of handovers across various work domains

open access: yes
Handovers in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) have so far been treated as a matter of giving control of technology from one to another actor, for example in the handovers of car control in semi-autonomous driving, digital object handoffs in VR, use of ...

User‐Based Evaluation of Explainability Techniques for Misogyny Detection in Code‐Mixed Hindi–English

open access: yesApplied AI Letters, Volume 7, Issue 2, June 2026.
In this work, we have performed human‐based evaluation of three post hoc explainability techniques, Local Interpretable Model Agnostic Explanations (LIME), Shapely Additive Explanations (SHAP), and integrated Gradients (IG) for a multilingual Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (mBERT) based binary and multi‐label misogyny ...

Annotating aspects in text and image: A new task and dataset for multimodal aspect‐based sentiment analysis

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 6, Page 771-794, June 2026.
Abstract Aspect‐Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) has evolved from textual analysis to a multimodal paradigm, integrating visual information to capture nuanced sentiments. Despite advancements, existing Multimodal ABSA (MABSA) research remains limited in granularity, which focuses on either coarse‐level categories or named entities, neglecting fine ...

Immersive reality capabilities of relieving hiraeth

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 6, Page 848-862, June 2026.
Abstract Understanding how immersive experiences foster a sense of presence sufficient to rival real‐world experiences remains an open research area. Prior work has largely examined episodic memory recall in simulated environments, but less is known about how immersive technologies can reconnect individuals with personal memories.

Characteristics and Stability of Valerian Essential Oil Nanoemulsion: A Comparison Between Ultrasonication and Microfluidization

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
The graphical abstract illustrates the preparation and stability evaluation of valerian essential oil (VEO) nanoemulsion produced using ultrasonication and microfluidization in phosphate buffer (PB) and distilled water (DW). Both high‐energy methods successfully generated nano‐sized emulsions; however, ultrasonication produced smaller droplet sizes and

Measuring Cognitive Load Index in Online Learning: A Multi‐Modal Approach

open access: yesJournal of Computer Assisted Learning, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Online learning has become increasingly prominent in education, necessitating a deeper understanding of its impact on students' cognitive load (CL). Existing studies often focus on single data sources and overlook multimodal assessments, limiting a deeper understanding of how CL and emotional states manifest and interact during ...
