Development of Functional Coatings from PCL‐PEG Tetra‐Arm Amphiphilic Polymer Co‐Networks with Enhanced Cell Adhesion

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 227, Issue 5, 13 March 2026.
PCL‐PEG based ACN thin films provide a highly tunable biointerface, where PEG content governs morphology, protein adsorption, and cellular responses. PEG‐lean films support fibroblast adhesion and proliferation, while PEG‐rich films are non‐cell‐adhesive with low protein adsorption, reversible by dECM coating.

Extracellular Vesicles‐Functionalized Biomaterials for Oral Disease Theragnostics

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Combining EVs with biomaterials enables sustained, targeted delivery and overcomes traditional limitations. EVs show great promise in diagnosing and treating oral diseases, and could transform oral health management strategies. ABSTRACT Oral diseases impair oral function and are closely linked to various systemic conditions.

Engineering Nanocellulose Scaffolds: Property Modification Strategies and Mechanotransduction‐Driven Tissue Outcomes

open access: yesPolymers for Advanced Technologies, Volume 37, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Nanocellulose is being increasingly used in biomedical applications because of its biocompatibility, mechanical robustness, tunable surface chemistry, and adjustable rheology. This review evaluates recent strategies for engineering cellulose nanofibrils, nanocrystals, and bacterial nanocellulose into cell‐instructive scaffolds for skin, bone ...

A Sensitive Thermoelectric Respiratory Sensor Using a Hollow‐Square Structure of Cubic Silicon Carbide‐Based Heterojunction

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
A sensitive self‐powered respiratory sensor is developed using a hollow‐window structure implemented on a 3C‐SiC/Si heterojunction‐based platform. This design enables the manipulation of thermal transport with the heterojunction regulating the flow of thermally generated charge carriers, yielding a significantly higher output thermal voltage than that ...

Seasonal variation in wild pig (Sus scrofa) diet revealed by DNA metabarcoding

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, Volume 50, Issue 1, March 2026.
Using DNA metabarcoding of fecal samples, we investigated the diet of wild pigs at an extensive bottomland hardwood forest ecosystem within Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge in Southern Arkansas. We found that wild pig diet was highly diverse and included at least 74 plant families and 106 genera and 23 species of vertebrates.

Senomorphic Activity of a Novel Standardized Propolis Extract in Human Dermal Fibroblasts: Molecular Insights Into Clinically Proven Anti‐Wrinkle Efficacy

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background We recently demonstrated in a randomized controlled trial (RCT) that a Standardized Propolis Extract (SPE), produced via a patented non‐alcoholic PEG 400/lecithin process, achieves significant clinical anti‐wrinkle efficacy (34% wrinkle depth reduction).

Comprehensive Analysis of Free BDPE Content in Commercial Hyaluronic Acid Fillers: Implications for Safety Assessment and Regulatory Standards

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Although manufacturers of 1,4‐butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE)‐cross‐linked hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers assert effective removal of unreacted BDDE, the hydrolyzed derivative 3,3′‐(butane‐1,4‐diyl)bis(oxy)bis(propane‐1,2‐diol) (BDPE) is routinely monitored, despite possessing structural features associated with sensitization ...
