HDF/HDF-EOS data access, visualization and processing tools at the GES DAAC

IGARSS 2003. 2003 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37477), 2004
To help users of remote sensing data, the NASA Goddard Earth Sciences Distributed Active Archive Center (GES DAAC) has developed a series of desktop and on-line tools. These are presented in this article. Various HDF readers for AIRS and MODIS data have been written in IDL, C and Fortran.

Energy Efficiency for HDFS

2020 IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing in Emerging Markets (CCEM), 2020
The rapidly increasing growth of big data is leading to increased usage of distributed computing and clusters as this can enable tasks to be split and processed in parallel resulting in higher computational efficiency. Environments like Apache Hadoop use Distributed file systems like the HDFS to support large clusters of typically commodity hardware to

Secure Hadoop with Encrypted HDFS

2013
As Hadoop becomes a popular distributed programming framework for processing large data on its distributed file system (HDFS), demands for secure computing and file storage grow quickly. However, the current Hadoop does not support encryption of storing HDFS blocks, which is a fundamental solution for secure Hadoop.

Towards a scalable HDFS architecture

2013 International Conference on Collaboration Technologies and Systems (CTS), 2013
Cloud computing infrastructures allow corporations to reduce costs by outsourcing computations on-demand. One of the areas cloud computing is increasingly being utilized for is large scale data processing. Apache Hadoop is one of these large scale data processing projects that supports data-intensive distributed applications.

Star Formation in the Nicmos HDF

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1999
This contribution discusses the rate of star formation in the galaxies observed in the NICMOS Hubble Deep Field. A combination of the earlier fluxes from the WFPC II HDF measurements and the NICMOS near infrared measurement produces a superb data base for the application of photometric redshift techniques.

Research and improvement of HDFS

2014 11th International Computer Conference on Wavelet Actiev Media Technology and Information Processing(ICCWAMTIP), 2014
Recently, cloud computing is increasingly becoming the focus of attention at home and abroad. When the big data storage is become the core of cloud computing system, cloud computing system would evolve into a cloud storage system. With rapidly development of cloud computing, cloud storage has become one of most popular research field.

HDFS and MapReduce

2016
Apache Hadoop is a distributed framework for storing and processing large quantities of data. Going over each of the terms in the previous statement, "distributed" implies that Hadoop is distributed across several (tens, hundreds, or even thousands) of nodes in a cluster.

Human diploid fibroblasts (HDF) can induce DNA synthesis in cycling HDF but not in quiescent HDF or senescent HDF.

Experimental cell research, 1983
HeLa cells in S phase induce DNA synthesis in cycling cells, serum-deprived quiescent cells, and non-replicative senescent cells following cell fusion. In contrast normal human diploid fibroblasts (HDF) do not induce DNA synthesis in either quiescent cells or senescent cells.

Multicast-based replication for Hadoop HDFS

2015 IEEE/ACIS 16th International Conference on Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Networking and Parallel/Distributed Computing (SNPD), 2015
The Hadoop HDFS is a popular open-source distributed storage system, which serves as the foundation of many important big-data technologies. The performance of data replication is crucial to HDFS, since it accounts for a major portion of network traffic in the entire cluster.

History and Future of HDFS

2017
This chapter reviews the history of the field of human development and family studies (HDFS), and also describes present and future of the field of HDFS. HDFS has historical roots in a number of different fields, most notably Home Economics, although it has attracted faculty expertise from other social sciences such as Developmental Psychology and ...
