Moisture Absorption in Highly Porous Closed‐Cell Polymeric Foams

open access: yesPolymer Engineering &Science, EarlyView.
The conventional one‐dimensional hindered diffusion model has been extended into a new Void Filling Hindered Diffusion Model. By quantifying the moisture stored within closed‐cell pores, this model successfully captures the distinct absorption behaviors observed across varying foam thicknesses.

Roles of Bronchopulmonary C-fibers in airway Hyperresponsiveness and airway remodeling induced by house dust mite

open access: yesRespiratory Research, 2017
Background Asthma is characterized by chronic airway inflammation, airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), and airway remodeling. While exposure of house dust mites (HDM) is a common cause of asthma, the pathogenesis of the HDM-induced asthma is not fully ...

Microglia Ablation and Downstream Effects in the Cerebrospinal Fluid Proteome

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Disease‐related activation of glial cells leads to changes in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) proteome. However, assigning such protein changes to their cellular origins is often difficult. Here, we used microglia (and macrophage) depletion in mice to identify CSF proteins of microglial origin.

Financial economic cost on gravel road maintenance: study using HDM-4

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract This study demonstrates the economic benefit analysis from two alternative project on gravel road surface using HDM-4 to access the most appropriate project and maintenance standard both in term of pavement remaining life and also road user cost (RUC).

Methylene-tetrahydrofolate reductase contributes to allergic airway disease. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2018
Environmental exposures strongly influence the development and progression of asthma. We have previously demonstrated that mice exposed to a diet enriched with methyl donors during vulnerable periods of fetal development can enhance the heritable risk of

Population Pharmacokinetics and Transfer of Gabapentin When Used as a Pain Adjunct for Cesarean Deliveries

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 551-560, March 2025.
ABSTRACT Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols for cesarean deliveries (CDs) utilize multimodal pain management strategies that often include gabapentin. While gabapentin is excreted in breast milk, its pharmacokinetics in immediately postpartum lactating women are not known. This observational pharmacokinetic study (NCT05099484) enrolled 21

Immunomodulatory Properties of Withania somnifera: Regulation of Innate Immune Cells and Clinical Implications

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal (WS), commonly known as Ashwagandha, is a prominent medicinal herb in Ayurveda, with extensive therapeutic potential attributed to its diverse phytochemical profile. This review critically examines the immunomodulatory properties of WS, focusing on innate immune cell populations, including neutrophils, eosinophils,

Investigation of the laser fluence and wavelength dependence in surface‐assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry using gold nanoparticles

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, EarlyView.
Rationale Surface‐assisted laser desorption/ionization (SALDI) mass spectrometry (MS) builds on the use of nanostructured surfaces (e.g., coatings of colloidal nanoparticles) to promote analyte desorption and ionization. The SALDI process is believed to occur mainly through thermal processes, resulting from heating of the nanosubstrate upon absorption ...
