Artificial Intelligence and Prostate–Breast Cancer Biology: Recent Advances in Treatments and Perspectives — A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims The therapeutic limitations of conventional cancer treatment currently deployed are driving the development and creation of new nano‐drugs. Prostate cancer (PCa) is a prevalent clinical problem in older men with a significant global incidence, with 1.5 million cases reported in 2022.

High-dose-rate brachytherapy in the treatment of skin Kaposi sarcoma

open access: yesJournal of Contemporary Brachytherapy, 2017
Purpose : The aim of the study is to review our experience in treatment of Kaposi sarcoma (KS) lesions with high-dose-rate (HDR) brachytherapy. Material and methods : We present five new KS lesions (three patients) that were treated in our hospital ...

Influence of radiotherapy dose rate on gold nanoparticle‐induced radiosensitization from high dose‐rate brachytherapy and external beam therapy

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Background Associated normal tissue toxicity from current radiotherapy (RT) treatments limits effective dose escalation in the tumor to achieve nominal treatment results. Gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as radiosensitizing agents to locally increase photoelectron production have gained interest as a safe and viable method to improve therapeutic ...

Dosimetric analysis and comparison of IMRT and HDR brachytherapy in treatment of localized prostate cancer

open access: yesJournal of Medical Physics, 2010
Radical radiotherapy is one of the options for the management of prostate cancer. In external beam therapy, 3D conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT) and intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) are the options for delivery of increased radiation dose, as vital ...

3D-image-guided HDR-brachytherapy versus 2D HDR - brachytherapy after external beam radiotherapy for early T-stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2014
Two-dimensional high-dose-rate brachytherapy (2D-HDR-BT) is an effective method of dose escalation for local tumor control in early T-stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Treatment outcomes for 3D-image-guided high-dose-rate brachytherapy (3D-image-guided-HDR-BT) after external beam radiotherapy (ERT) have not been examined in early T-stage NPC ...

Application of Brachytherapy in Postoperative Treatment of Keloid‐Prone Patients

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Keloids are benign fibroproliferative tumors that often recur after surgical excision. Combining surgery with postoperative radiotherapy has emerged as a potential treatment strategy, though optimal radiotherapy protocols remain debated.

Reirradiation for Recurrent Cervical Cancer Within the Previous Radiation Field Using a Bioabsorbable Spacer: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Research, Volume 52, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Reirradiation for cervical cancer recurrence in previously irradiated fields is challenging due to dose limitations. To our knowledge, this is the first case report describing successful reirradiation using a bioabsorbable spacer for vaginal cuff recurrence after initial concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) and hysterectomy. A 70‐year‐old woman

Weekly versus biweekly high-dose rate brachytherapy schedules in carcinoma cervix following concomitant chemoradiation with paclitaxel and carboplatin

open access: yesAsian Journal of Oncology, 2017
Context: In the management of cervical cancer, though a number of chemotherapeutic drugs have been used for concomitant chemoradiation, paclitaxel and carboplatin have shown improved overall response rates with acceptable side effects.

In vitro properties of patient serum predict clinical outcome after high dose rate brachytherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 20, Issue 2, Page 480-492, February 2026.
Following high dose rate brachytherapy (HDR‐BT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), patients were classified as responders and nonresponders. Post‐therapy serum induced increased BrdU incorporation and Cyclin E expression of Huh7 and HepG2 cells in nonresponders, but decreased levels in responders.
