Stopping of Slow H-, He-, Li- and Be-Like Projectiles in Electron Gas

open access: yesActa Physica Polonica A, 1998
Results of calculations of the electronic stopping power and the energy loss straggling for low velocity H-, He-, Li- and Be-like projectiles in the degenerate electron gas are reported.

Projectile and target excitation in He+ + He collisions at intermediate energies [PDF]

open access: yesMatter and Radiation at Extremes, 2020
We present ab initio calculations of cross sections for projectile and target excitation occurring in the course of He+ + He collisions using a three-active-electron semiclassical nonperturbative approach. Intermediate impact energies ranging from 1 keV to 225 keV/u are considered.

External dynamics of OF-462Z he projectiles

open access: yesMilitary Technical Collection, 2020
Theoretical studies of the determination of the components of the air resistance forces to the projectile's propulsion are quite complex and do not always give the desired accuracy of calculations. Therefore, the main methods for their determination are experimental studies. The most common method is to conduct special firing at landfills.

Deformation and melting of steel projectiles in hypervelocity cratering experiments

open access: yes, 2022
S.150-164We carried out hypervelocity cratering experiments with steel projectiles and sandstone targets to investigate the structural and mineralogical changes that occur upon impact in the projectile and target. The masses of coherent projectile relics

Towards a systematic optical model potential for A = 8 projectiles

open access: yes, 2021
An optical model analysis of the available data for A = 8 ($$^8$$He, $$^8$$Li and $$^8$$B) projectiles on different targets with light, medium and heavy mass has been performed.

Civilian gunshot wounds to the head: a case report, clinical management, and literature review

open access: yesChinese Neurosurgical Journal, 2021
Background Civilian gunshot wounds to the head refer to brain injury caused by projectiles such as gun projectiles and various fragments generated by explosives in a power launch or explosion.

Acquired Arteriovenous Fistulae: A Study of Three Cases and Review of Literature

open access: yesIndian Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, 2016
William Hunter is credited with the earliest description of an arteriovenous fistula (AVF) when he noticed an abnormal connection between an artery and a vein in two patients who underwent a phlebotomy.

The interaction of the projectile with moving plates and rods

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
The study of the problem of protecting the elements of constructions from impact loadings is very important due to the need of constant perfection of the means of shock-wave impact on the objects of modern technology.

CD8+ T cell memory is sustained in mice by hepatic stellate cells

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
HSC role in memory CD8+ T cell maintenance. Abstract Background and Aims Long‐lasting immunological memory is the ultimate goal of vaccination. Homeostatic maintenance of memory CD8+ cytotoxic T cells (MemCD8TCs) is thought to be mediated by IL‐15/IL‐15R heterodimer (15HD)‐expressing myeloid cells.

The role of the wave packet coherence on the ionization cross section of He by p+ and C6+ projectiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We study the role of the projectile coherence in collision processes. We analyze in particular the ionization of He by p+ and C6+ projectiles at 1 and 100 MeV/amu, respectively.
