Efficacy of Transcerebellar Diameter/ Abdominal Circumference Versus Head Circumference/Abdominal Circumference in Predicting Asymmetric Intrauterine Growth Retardation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research, 2015
Background: The high incidence of IUGR and its low recognition lead to increasing perinatal morbidity and mortality for which prediction of IUGR with timely management decisions is of paramount importance.

Geometry‐Guided Osteogenesis in Bone‐on‐a‐Chip Systems Using Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Scaffolds

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a bone‐on‐a‐chip platform incorporating TPMS scaffolds to study geometry‐dependent osteogenesis under dynamic flow. By tuning pore shape and solidity, it precisely controls mechanical cues, revealing how topological features and shear stress affect osteogenic differentiation and matrix formation.

The EPICure study : growth and blood pressure at 6 years of age following extremely preterm birth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Background: Preterm children are at risk for reduced growth in early childhood, which may predispose them to later changes in blood pressure. We studied growth and blood pressure (BP) in extremely preterm (EP) children at age 6 years.

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Head circumference index in children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders in comparison to intellectual disability and its relationship with cognitive factors [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i dānishgāh-i ̒ulūm-i pizishkī-i Arāk, 2015
Background: Head circumference (and its related morphologic factors such as head length and width) is one of the morphologic indices that people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) have different developmental patterns in comparison to their peers.

Waist-to-Hip Ratio is Related to Body Fat Content and Distribution Regardless of the Waist Circumference Measurement Protocol, in Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Patients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Central accumulation and distribution of body fat (BF) is an important cardiometabolic risk factor. Waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), commonly elevated in non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) patients, has been endorsed as a risk related marker of central ...
