A battery‐free, wireless device for real‐time monitoring of pressure injury and hygiene integrates pressure (≈10 kPa), temperature (≈40 °C), and NH3 gas sensing with antibacterial functionality. Enabled by near‐field communication, it ensures simultaneous, interference‐free mechanical and chemical monitoring, offering a practical solution for pressure ...

Investigating the 'latent' deficit hypothesis : age at time of head injury, executive and implicit functions and behavioral insight [PDF]
This study investigated the 'latent deficit' hypothesis in two groups of frontotemporal headinjured patients, those injured prior to steep morphological and corresponding functional maturational periods for frontotemporal networks (≤ age 25), and those ...

Functional Hydrogel for Modulating Lipid Droplets and Neuroinflammation in Head Injury
After TBI, elevated cholesterol levels in activated microglia lead to the accumulation of cholesterol esters in lipid droplets, exacerbating neuroinflammation. A β‐cyclodextrin‐conjugated GelMA (βCD‐GelMA) hydrogel is developed to promotes cholesterol efflux and reduces LDL influx, thereby alleviating intracellular cholesterol and lipid droplet buildup.

Pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury.
The knowledge of the pathophysiology after traumatic head injury is necessary for adequate and patient-oriented treatment. As the primary insult, which represents the direct mechanical damage, cannot be therapeutically influenced, target of the treatment

Factor VIIa administration in traumatic brain injury: an AAST-MITC propensity score analysis. [PDF]
Background:Recombinant factor VIIa (rFVIIa) has been used off-label as an adjunct in the reversal of warfarin therapy and management of hemorrhage after trauma. Only a handful of these reports are rigorous studies, from which results regarding safety and

This study presents an injectable hydrogel that responds to Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection by releasing a dual‐phage cocktail on demand. The system degrades selectively in infected wounds, enhances phage localization and stability, and shows potent antibiofilm activity and biocompatibility in an ex vivo human skin model—offering a promising strategy ...

This work presents a soft microelectrode array based on vertically aligned carbon nanotube (CNT) forests, combining high conductivity with mechanical softness. A densification process and air‐pressure‐assisted flexibilization improve structural integrity, ensuring stable insertion and reduced inflammation.
