Compliance Prediction of a Novel Head Protection Device for Elderly Patients With Fall Risk
The American Surgeon™, 2023Brain injury from ground level falls (GLF) is common and has substantial morbidity. We identified a potential head protection device (HPD). This report describes predicted future compliance. 21 elderly patients were provided a HPD and were evaluated on admission and after discharge. Compliance, ease of use, and comfort were evaluated.

Size of Chinese Head and Face Related to Respiratory Protective Device Design
2021This study presents a two-dimensional distribution table of Chinese head and face dimensions related to the design of respiratory protective devices. The two-dimensional distribution table is set up according to the coverage rate of head width shape length of adult men (18–60 years old) and adult women (18–60 years old).

The effectiveness of polymer matrix tags containing (w/w) 8.5% cypermethrin, 7.5% flucythrinate, 13.7% tetrachlorvinphos or 20.0% diazinon in protecting sheep against head strike by the sheep blowfly (Lucilia cuprina Wiedemann) was investigated in larval implant, fly cage and field studies. Tags impregnated with cypermethrin reduced the total number of

Creation of a head and face protection device for children undergoing procedures in prone position
Pediatric Anesthesia, 2009SummaryBackground: Positioning the head of patients undergoing procedures in lateral or prone position remains a difficult task for the anesthesiologists. Associated risks have attracted increasing attention because they range from minor facial soft tissue injuries to catastrophic complications such as stroke or postoperative blindness.

While psychoacoustical methods to evaluate the sound attenuation of heating protective devices have been standardized (CSA Z94.2-M1984; ASA STD 1-1975) and proved to be practical for continuous noise, no standard exists for impulse noise. Microphone-based techniques seem to provide the best avenue for the measurement of impulse noise attenuation at the

Ultra-thin amorphous Si–C–N films, down to 2nm, have been synthesized by MW-ECR, plasma enhanced unbalanced magnetron sputtering. The friction coefficient of the film is only 0.11, determined in dry friction tests against the GCr15 ball at a load of 400 mN for 20 min.
