Efficacy of galcanezumab in migraine central sensitization

open access: yesScientific Reports
Galcanezumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting the calcitonin gene-related peptide pathway (CGRP mAb), acts peripherally due to its large size. However, recent studies have suggested that CGRP mAbs may also have a central mode of action.

Virtualization: A double-edged sword [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
Virtualization became recently a hot topic once again, after being dormant for more than twenty years. In the meantime, it has been almost forgotten, that virtual machines are not so perfect isolating environments as it seems, when looking at the principles.

Patterns of medicinal cannabis use, strain analysis, and substitution effect among patients with migraine, headache, arthritis, and chronic pain in a medicinal cannabis cohort

open access: yesThe Journal of Headache and Pain, 2018
BackgroundMedicinal cannabis registries typically report pain as the most common reason for use. It would be clinically useful to identify patterns of cannabis treatment in migraine and headache, as compared to arthritis and chronic pain, and to analyze ...

A Hybrid Transfer Learning Framework for Brain Tumor Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A novel hybrid transfer learning approach for brain tumor classification achieves 99.47% accuracy using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. By combining image preprocessing, ensemble deep learning, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques like gradient‐weighted class activation mapping and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), the ...

African Trypanosomiasis Detection using Dempster-Shafer Theory [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Emerging Trends in Computing and Information Sciences, Vol. 3, No. 4, 2012, pp. 480 - 487, 2012
World Health Organization reports that African Trypanosomiasis affects mostly poor populations living in remote rural areas of Africa that can be fatal if properly not treated. This paper presents Dempster-Shafer Theory for the detection of African trypanosomiasis.

Classification of Pulmonary Nodules Using Multimodal Feature‐Driven Graph Convolutional Networks with Specificity Proficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The radiomics feature could save the storage space of all medical samples; on the other hand, it avoids data leakage. Graph convolutional neural networks could summarize the similarity of benign and malignant pulmonary nodules to improve the performance in distinguishing them with radiomics and common clinical features.

An Easy yet Effective Method for Detecting Spatial Domain LSB Steganography [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Digitization of image was a revolutionary step for the fields of photography and Image processing as this made the editing of images much effortless and easier. Image editing was not an issue until it was limited to corrective editing procedures used to enhance the quality of an image such as, contrast stretching, noise filtering, sharpening etc.

Deep‐Learning Model for Central Nervous System Infection Diagnosis and Prognosis Using Label‐Free 3D Immune‐Cell Morphology in the Cerebrospinal Fluid

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of central nervous system infections are critical. This study introduces a deep‐learning model utilizing cerebrospinal fluid immune‐cell morphology captured via 3D holotomography. The model effectively predicts infection etiology and prognosis, achieving high accuracy.
