Headache disorders as risk factors for sleep disturbances in school aged children. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Several epidemiological studies have shown the presence of comorbidity between various types of sleep disorders and different headache subtypes. Migraine without aura is a sensitive risk factor for disorders of initiating and maintaining sleep (odds ...

Induction of chronic migraine phenotypes in a rat model after environmental irritant exposure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Air pollution is linked to increased emergency department visits for headache and migraine patients frequently cite chemicals or odors as headache triggers, but the association between air pollutants and headache is not well understood.

Deep‐Learning Model for Central Nervous System Infection Diagnosis and Prognosis Using Label‐Free 3D Immune‐Cell Morphology in the Cerebrospinal Fluid

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Early diagnosis and prognosis prediction of central nervous system infections are critical. This study introduces a deep‐learning model utilizing cerebrospinal fluid immune‐cell morphology captured via 3D holotomography. The model effectively predicts infection etiology and prognosis, achieving high accuracy.

Random Forests of Interaction Trees for Estimating Individualized Treatment Effects in Randomized Trials [PDF]

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, 37(17): 2547-2560, 2018, 2017
Assessing heterogeneous treatment effects has become a growing interest in advancing precision medicine. Individualized treatment effects (ITE) play a critical role in such an endeavor. Concerning experimental data collected from randomized trials, we put forward a method, termed random forests of interaction trees (RFIT), for estimating ITE on the ...

Cluster headache management and beyond [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The therapeutic management of cluster headache is based on a very stable triad of drugs. Acute treatment has, in subcutaneous sumatriptan, its gold standard if compared to pure oxygen or indomethacin.

Opportunities for Mining Radiology Archives for Pediatric Control Images [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
A large database of brain imaging data from healthy, normal controls is useful to describe physiologic and pathologic structural changes at a population scale. In particular, these data can provide information about structural changes throughout development and aging.

To Relieve Your Headache of Training an MRF, Take AdVIL [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We propose a black-box algorithm called {\it Adversarial Variational Inference and Learning} (AdVIL) to perform inference and learning on a general Markov random field (MRF). AdVIL employs two variational distributions to approximately infer the latent variables and estimate the partition function of an MRF, respectively.
