Machine Learning‐Assisted Infectious Disease Detection in Low‐Income Areas: Toward Rapid Triage of Dengue and Zika Virus Using Open‐Source Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study introduces an affordable machine learning platform for simultaneous dengue and zika detection using fluorine‐doped tin oxide thin films modified with gold nanoparticles and DNA aptamers. Designed for low‐cost, hardware‐limited devices (< $25), the model achieves 95.3% accuracy and uses only 9.4 kB of RAM, demonstrating viability for resource‐

Gaussian Process Regression–Neural Network Hybrid with Optimized Redundant Coordinates: A New Simple Yet Potent Tool for Scientist's Machine Learning Toolbox

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A machine learning method, opt‐GPRNN, is presented that combines the advantages of neural networks and kernel regressions. It is based on additive GPR in optimized redundant coordinates and allows building a representation of the target with a small number of terms while avoiding overfitting when the number of terms is larger than optimal.

Patient Perspectives on Psychiatric Polygenic Risk Scores in Reproductive Decision‐Making and Polygenic Embryo Screening

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Polygenic risk scores (PRS) estimate individuals' genetic risk for developing multifactorial conditions. Recent genome‐wide association studies have enabled development of psychiatric PRS, which hold potential to streamline diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric conditions.

Approach To Acute Headaches

open access: yesAnnals of Indian Academy of Neurology, 2002
Although secondary causes for headache are discemible in only about 15% of persons attending emergency departments with headache, any person presenting with acute headache needs to be investigated to rule our secondary headache disorders.

Triggers, Protectors, and Predictors in Episodic Migraine. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
PURPOSE OF REVIEW: A wide variety of triggers prompt attacks in episodic migraine. Although experimental triggers such as glyceryl trinitrate reliably produce migraine, natural triggers are much less predictable and vary in importance between individuals.

Psychiatric and Cognitive Features in Italian Women With the FMR1 Premutation: A Comprehensive Assessment Using SCID‐5 and Standardized Cognitive Measures

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Women with the FMR1 premutation (PM) are at increased risk for fragile X‐associated conditions (FXPAC), including cognitive and psychiatric features collectively termed fragile X‐associated neuropsychiatric disorders (FXAND). This study is the first to systematically investigate cognitive and psychiatric features in Italian female premutation ...
