DPMVectorNet: End-to-End Ship Detection, Heading, and Velocity Estimation via Dual-Point Motion Vectors in Satellite Imagery

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Ship motion analysis using remote sensing imagery is essential for maritime surveillance, traffic monitoring, and ocean management. Existing optical detection methods, however, have primarily concentrated on identifying static ship targets through ...

Vector Graph Assisted Pedestrian Dead Reckoning Using an Unconstrained Smartphone

open access: yesSensors, 2015
The paper presents a hybrid indoor positioning solution based on a pedestrian dead reckoning (PDR) approach using built-in sensors on a smartphone. To address the challenges of flexible and complex contexts of carrying a phone while walking, a robust ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Aircraft Attitude/Heading Estimation Using a Dipole Triad Antenna [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper performs aircraft attitude/heading estimation using an airborne dipole triad antenna. The signal model is given with the parameters such as the wave Direction Of Arrival (DOA) and state of polarization. The algorithms for estimating the source

Remote Estimation of Rice Yield With Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Data and Spectral Mixture Analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
The accurate assessment of rice yield is crucially important for China’s food security and sustainable development. Remote sensing (RS), as an emerging technology, is expected to be useful for rice yield estimation especially at regional scales. With the

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Modeling Heading and Path Perception from Optic Flow in the Case of Independently Moving Objects

open access: yesFrontiers in Behavioral Neuroscience, 2013
Humans are usually accurate when estimating heading or path from optic flow, even in the presence of independently moving objects (IMO) in an otherwise rigid scene.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Humans can perceive heading without visual path information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
It has previously been reported that humans can determine their direction of 3D translation (heading) from the 2D velocity field of retinal motion experienced during self-motion through a rigid environment, as is done by current computational models of ...
