During a heart attack, neutrophils rapidly activate and differentiate into a specific subset characterized by high levels of MMP9, a tissue‐damaging enzyme, via the SPI1/CST7 pathway. These neutrophils form harmful net‐like structures (Neutrophil extracellular traps, NETs) that exacerbate heart injury.

The Hypoxia‐Associated High‐Risk Cell Subpopulation Distinctly Enhances the Progression of Glioma
This study suggests the potential roles of a novel hypoxia‐associated CDC20+KIF20A+PTTG1+ cell subpopulation in glioma progression. This high‐risk glioma cell subpopulation is therapeutically vulnerable to glioma progression and may play important roles in glioma standard‐of‐care therapeutic resistance.

In Yellowstone Lake, Wyoming, lake trout carcasses are used to suppress invasive lake trout embryos in an effort to conserve native Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Using a field experiment, we determined that carcass treatment had limited, non‐target effects on benthic invertebrates.
