2018Diarrhea is relatively common among hospitalized children. Most episodes of nosocomial diarrhea are due to noninfectious factors, including medications, underlying illnesses, or tube feeding. Yet the acute onset of diarrhea in a hospitalized child may indicate a newly acquired gastrointestinal infection.
