Aneurysmatic bulgings of either ventricular/atrial structures or outflow tract vessels such as the ductus arteriosus are rare prenatal conditions. Prenatal diagnosis is confirmed by detailed echocardiographic examination of the fetal heart. The majority of these congenital abnormalities are probably related to developmental disorders.

Although aneurysm of the heart has been recognized for almost two centuries, it is only recently that the antemortem diagnosis has been made with any assurance. The advent of more thorough study of patients with heart disease by roentgenologic methods has considerably increased the frequency with which the correct diagnosis is made.

Abdominal aortic aneurysms after heart transplantation

[Posttraumatic aneurysm of the heart].
Arkhiv patologii, 1985A case of the posttraumatic aneurysm of the left heart ventricle in a man of 30 developing 2 years after a knife wounding is described. Aneurysmorhaphy under conditions of the artificial circulation was performed. The postoperative period was complicated by polymicrobial sepsis.
