The SGLT2i Treatment Gap in UK Primary Care: A Cross‐Sectional RWE Study of Prescribing in Clinical Practice

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims Sodium‐glucose co‐transporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) improve cardiovascular and renal outcomes in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), chronic kidney disease (CKD) and chronic heart failure (CHF). Despite clinical guideline recommendations, SGLT2i uptake in UK primary care remains suboptimal and information on utilisation is limited.

The Place for Form in Wollheim's Lectures on Formalism and Pictorial Organization

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Philosophy, EarlyView.
Abstract At the time of his death, Richard Wollheim was writing a short book on Formalism and Pictorial Organization. Much of it, but by no means all of it, had been published before (it has come out posthumously in its entirety in late 2025). Here I do two things. First, I have provided a rather detailed exegesis concentrating on the parts of the book

Improving primary aldosteronism diagnosis and treatment: outcomes from an endocrine hypertension service

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims To evaluate the sustained impact of the Endocrine Hypertension Service on primary aldosteronism (PA) diagnosis and management over a subsequent 3‐year period. Background PA is a prevalent yet underdiagnosed cause of secondary hypertension, associated with increased cardiovascular, renal and metabolic risk. Limited awareness, resources and

Semaglutide in type 2 diabetes and chronic kidney disease in Australia: practical clinical considerations from a multidisciplinary panel

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD) and cardiovascular disease (CVD) are major causes of morbidity and mortality in people with type 2 diabetes (T2D). Contemporary CKD guidelines increasingly support incorporation of glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1RAs) as an additional pillar of cardiorenal therapy alongside renin–angiotensin ...

Clinical Outcomes After Catheter Ablation in Patients With Structural Heart Disease and Ventricular Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction In patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM), recurrent VF may be treated with catheter ablation by targeting triggering premature ventricular complexes (PVCs) and/or ventricular scar homogenization. Data on optimal ablation strategies in patients with non‐ischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM) remain limited.

Feasibility, Safety, and Efficacy of Pulsed Field Ablation for Ventricular Arrhythmias: Insights From a Large Health System Registry in the United States

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pulsed field ablation (PFA) is an emerging non‐thermal ablation modality with proven safety in atrial arrhythmia ablation. However, data on its performance for ventricular arrhythmias (VA) remain limited. Objective To evaluate the feasibility, safety, and efficacy of PFA for complex VA in a multicenter real‐world US registry ...

Learning Curve of Pentaspline Pulsed‐Field Ablation With Posterior Wall Isolation for Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Pentaspline pulsed‐field ablation (PFA) has emerged as a novel modality for pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) and posterior wall isolation (PWI) in persistent atrial fibrillation (AF). However, the learning curve associated with combined PVI + PWI and the contribution of anatomical factors to acute lesion completeness remain ...
