G Protein-Coupled Receptor Kinase 3 Exacerbates Diabetic Heart Injuries Through Direct Phosphorylation of Cannabinoid Receptor 2 in Humans and Mice.

Circulation
BACKGROUND GRKs (GPCR [G protein-coupled receptor] kinases) are key regulators of GPCR signaling. Because GPCRs are targeted by approximately 40% of clinical drugs, GRKs also represent therapeutic targets for combating cardiovascular diseases.

Fatty acid-binding protein 3 contributes to ischemic heart injury by regulating cardiac myocyte apoptosis and MAPK pathways.

American Journal of Physiology. Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 2019
Fatty acid-binding protein 3 (FABP3), a low-molecular-weight protein, participates in lipid transportation, storage, signaling transduction, oxidation, and transcription regulation.

Arrow Injury to the Heart

The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2010
Arrow injury to the heart is a common cause of penetrating trauma in rural areas of underdeveloped nations. We report such a patient who survived 3 days after such an injury and traveled 1000 km with a pulsating arrow in the chest for treatment. The literature on such injuries is reviewed.

Cardiac Evaluation following Heart Injury

The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1985
Both penetrating and blunt cardiac injuries require urgent management. Delayed sequelae and complications have been reported to occur in 4 to 56% of survivors and frequently required secondary surgical corrections. Between January 1980 and June 1984, 204 patients presented with heart injuries. One hundred twenty-eight of these patients survived. Of the

Cardiac injuries were present in 16% of our patients suffering from blunt chest trauma. 25% of these cases had no concomitant rib fractures. Sonography is extremely important for evaluation. In myocardial contusion the electrocardiogram reveals mainly disturbances in repolarisation (66 out of 108 patients) and rhythm disturbances (59 patients). A ratio

Beitrage zur Orthopadie und Traumatologie, 1990
A report was made on a 25 year old patient with a penetrating heart injury with basic diagnosis, and treatment. A successful management was a result of good performance of the resuscitation chain, exactness of the clinical diagnosis and interdisciplinary cooperation between surgeons and anaesthetists.

Mechanism of encephalogenic heart injury

Zeitschrift für Die Gesamte Experimentelle Medizin, 1965
Five experimental methods were employed in dogs, to analyse the transmission of encephalic stimuli to the heart by either neural or circulatory pathways. 1. Cerebral-cardiac cross-circulation in parabiotic dogs. 2. Interruption of all nervous connections by bilateral vagotomy and cross-section of the cervical spinal cord. 3. Pharmacological blocking of

Rozhledy v chirurgii : mesicnik Ceskoslovenske chirurgicke spolecnosti, 1994
Cardiac injuries associated with a penetrating thoracic injury are not frequently encountered. The usual course is characterized by massive haemorrhage, cardiac tamponade and an entering wound in the cardiac area. Diagnostic problems arise if these clinical syndromes are absent.

[Penetrating heart injuries].

Langenbecks Archiv fur Chirurgie, 1987
Penetrating cardiac injuries provide the surgeon until nowadays with a challenging problem due to a high mortality rate. Depending on the mechanism of trauma and the time interval less than 20% of the patients with severe wounds of the heart reach the hospital alive. Methods of managing these wounds are controversial.

Der Chirurg; Zeitschrift fur alle Gebiete der operativen Medizen, 1988
On personal experience of 6 cases and literature review the management of penetrating precordial wounds is discussed. The importance of clinical science, as shock and high central venous pressure, in the indication of emergency thoracotomy is outlined.
