Heart transplantation after repair of postinfarction ventricular septal defect.
The Journal of cardiovascular surgery, 1996A 68 year-old man underwent surgical repair of a ventricular septal defect following an acute myocardial infarction. Recurrent interventricular septal rupture with significant left-to-right shunting led to progressive deterioration in cardiac function and intractable heart failure.

A penetrating heart injury resulting in ventricular septal defect.
Hellenic journal of cardiology : HJC = Hellenike kardiologike epitheorese, 2011Penetrating heart injuries can be lethal. Here we report a case of self-inflicted cardiac injury with glass fragments by a psychiatric patient. The patient presented with cardiogenic shock and was initially treated surgically for a large pneumothorax and cardiac tamponade. A few days later she presented with dyspnoea and hypotension.

Two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiography can provide structural and hemodynamic information for patients with ventricular septal defects (VSDs). Therefore, two-dimensional and Doppler echocardiographic examinations were performed on patients with VSDs returning for the Second Natural History Study of Congenital Heart Defects.Five hundred fifty-six ...

[Rhabdomyomatosis of the heart and ventricular septal defect (author's transl)].
Zeitschrift fur Kardiologie, 1977An unusual case of cardiac rhabdomyomatosis associated with a ventricular septal defect without signs of tuberous sclerosis is described. On 3 different angiocardiographies the region of the tumor seemed to be a right ventricular aneurysm. The tumor was identified as such only on operation and its nature defined histologically. Subtotal excision of the
