Electronic Stethoscope for Heartbeat Abnormality Detection
2021Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are one of the main causes of death and disability in most countries of the world. However, most countries do not currently have a comprehensive mass identification of risk factors and an overall assessment of the risk of developing CVD.

Heartbeat tracking device for detecting arrhythmia
2013 2nd International Conference on Advances in Biomedical Engineering, 2013We want to introduce a device for arrhythmia tracking, in order to detect the presence of arrhythmia during sleep and outdoor. In this work, we have developed such a highly sensitive and accurate arrhythmia detector. The device is based on the Pan-Tompkins algorithm for QRS-detection to detect the normal and abnormal heartbeats.

Heartbeat detection system using piezoelectric transducer
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2017This paper presents a simple piezoelectric based heartbeat detection system. The signal produced by the piezoelectric will undergo signal conditioning and then converted into digital data by Arduino Nano. Using serial communication, the data will be sent to a computer for display and further analysis.

Wearable Ballistocardiography system for heartbeat detection
2016 International Conference and Exposition on Electrical and Power Engineering (EPE), 2016Ballistocardiography (BCG) is a non-invasive method based on the measurement of the human body motion occurring due to acceleration of blood as it is ejected and moved in the large vessels at each cardiac cycle. The system presented in this paper is designed to measure the reaction force of systolic contraction of the body after determining the pumping

The relationship between cardiovascular reactivity and heartbeat detection
Psychophysiology, 1994AbstractThis experiment tested the hypothesis that inotropic cardiovascular reactivity to stress is related to performance on heartbeat discrimination tasks. The experiment also compared the efficacy of a specific modification of two popular heartbeat discrimination paradigms, Whitehead's and Katkin's. Subjects were 48 male undergraduates who performed

Heartbeat Detection Using Energy Thresholding and Template Match
2005 IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology 27th Annual Conference, 2005Heartbeat detection is very important for retrieving the vital signs of heart functions. The morphologies and inter-beat intervals of heartbeats can reveal the condition of heart contraction. In this paper, we developed a heartbeat information integration scheme to deal with the information yielded by the energy thresholding and template match methods,

Improved Fetal Heartbeat Detection Using Pitch Shifting and Psychoacoustics
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2022Objective: Fetal phonocardiography is a cost-effective and non-invasive method for monitoring of fetal health. However, the captured signal is often too noisy and unstable for reliable analysis. Detection of fetal heartbeats therefore requires a robust set of features to differentiate relevant sounds from background noise.

Botnet Host Detection Based on Heartbeat Association
Proceedings of the 2020 4th International Conference on Cryptography, Security and Privacy, 2020As a common means of communication, heartbeat is often used by the network applications. Hosts with the same heartbeat tend to have the same applications and thus share the homogenous vulnerabilities. Based on the detected heartbeat, the paper designs the heartbeat network, the heartbeat associated graph and an attribute propagation algorithm based on ...

Detection of Multiple Heartbeats Using Doppler Radar
2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006Doppler radar life sensing has shown promise in medical and security applications. The current paper considers the problem of determining the number of persons in a given area (e.g., a room) using the Doppler shift due to heartbeat. The signal is weak and time-varying, and therefore poses a complicated signal processing problem.

Touch-less heartbeat detection and cardiopulmonary modeling
2009 2nd International Symposium on Applied Sciences in Biomedical and Communication Technologies, 2009This paper presents a contact-less heartbeat detection system and a cardiopulmonary modeling. Using a vector network analyzer, our proposed microwave system shows the ability of detecting the heartbeat signal at different frequencies, as well as at different output power levels. Based on parameters extracted from real measurements, a model representing
