HEAT CAPACITY IN PROTEINS

Annual Review of Physical Chemistry, 2005
▪ Abstract   Heat capacity (Cp) is one of several major thermodynamic quantities commonly measured in proteins. With more than half a dozen definitions, it is the hardest of these quantities to understand in physical terms, but the richest in insight.

Generalized Solvation Heat Capacities

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2006
The partial molar heat capacity associated with a constant-pressure solvation process is extended to define a total of six generalized solvation heat capacities, each of which contain unique physical information. These arise from all the possible cross derivatives of the reversible heat of solvation (with respect to T and N), each evaluated at either ...

Gaseous Heat Capacities. II

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1940
The present paper describes a continuation of the work on the heat capacities of lower hydrocarbons by the Lummer-Pringsheim adiabatic expansion method. The apparatus and the procedure described in the first paper of this series, henceforth to be denoted as Part I, was used in the present research without important modifications.

Heat Capacities

2010
The book contains the very latest information on all aspects of heat capacities related to liquids and vapours, either pure or mixed. The chapters, all written by knowledgeable experts in their respective fields, cover theory, experimental methods, and techniques (including speed of sound, photothermal techniques, brillouin scattering, scanning ...

Heat capacity and entanglement

Il Nuovo Cimento C, 2012
Starting from a recent result on thermodynamic equilibrium of quantum systems, a connection between thermal properties, originating from Gibbs state probabilistic structure, and quantum correlations is discussed as a consequence of entanglement monogamy.

Lattice Heat Capacity

1966
One of the earliest empirical generalizations concerning the specific heat of solids was enunciated by Dulong and Petit in 1819. Its theoretical justification was advanced by Boltzmann in 1871, and in 1907 Einstein showed why it failed at low temperatures. These dates are among the principal landmarks in the study of specific heats.
