Semantic Representation of Low‐Cycle‐Fatigue Testing Data Using a Fatigue Test Ontology and ckan.kupferdigital Data Management System

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article introduces an automated approach for converting the raw research data (use case of low‐cycle‐fatigue testing dataset) to machine‐readable resource description framework ones and storing them in an open digital repository. As two main prerequisites for this data digitalization process, the development of fatigue testing ontology and ckan ...

Heat leakage in equilibrium processes [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
The difference between the zero-mass limit of the heat exchanged with a thermal reservoir, and its value as determined from overdamped dynamics, is termed `heat leakage' or `hidden heat' in the Smoluchowski limit. If present, heat leakages are the sign of the unsuitability of the overdamped approximation for addressing thermodynamics.

Maximum work for Carnot-like heat engines with infinite heat source [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
An analysis of efficiency and its bounds at maximum work output for Carnot-like heat engines is conducted. The heat transfer processes are described by the linear law with time-dependent heat conductance. The upper bound of efficiency is found to be the CA efficiency, and is independent of the time duration completing each process and the time-dependent
