Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Thermal Modelling of the Ventilation and Cooling inside Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Generators [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Axial flux permanent magnet generators are of particular interest for power generation in harsh and confined conditions. Due to their compactness and high power density, the ventilation and cooling inside axial flux permanent magnet generators have ...

3D modeling of n = 1 RMP driven heat fluxes on the SPARC tokamak PFCs using HEAT

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
3D heat flux calculations at the lower outer divertor plate of SPARC using the HEAT code show that 3D fields generated from error field correction coils can lead to enhanced peak heat fluxes up to 15 times larger compared to the axisymmetric case ...

HEAT simulation and IR data comparison for ST40 plasma-facing components

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
The Heat Flux Engineering Analysis Toolkit (HEAT) (Looby et al., 2022) was used to simulate the heat flux, qtarget, on ST40 molybdenum divertors. Results were compared with experimental infrared (IR) data.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

On the determination of the spatial energy balance of a megacity on the example of Cairo, Egypt [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This research deals with different aspects of the spatial urban energy balance on the example of the megacity Cairo, Egypt. The energy balance and its single terms were measured in situ during a field campaign in Cairo at three different locations (urban,

Modeling and calculating the albedo and IR heat flux applied to satellite based on the geographic position of sarellite [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی, 2019
In this paper, a precise method for calculating albedo and IR heat flux applied to a satellite is presented. For obtaining albedo heat flux applied to a satellite, a point on the earth’s surface that sun flux reflected at that point and reach to the ...
