Heat Pump Drying of Green Sweet Pepper
Drying Technology, 2008Thin-layer drying experiments under controlled conditions were conducted for green sweet pepper in heat pump dryer at 30, 35, and 40°C and hot air dryer at 45°C with relative humidities ranging from 19 to 55%. The moisture content of sweet pepper slices reduced exponentially with drying time.

Drying kinetics of nectarine slices in a heat pump drying system
Energy Sources, Part A: Recovery, Utilization, and Environmental EffectsThis study focused on investigating the drying behaviors of nectarine slices under varying drying temperatures (Tdrying) through the utilization of energy and exergy analysis methodologies, alongside an exploration of the drying kinetics employing diverse mathematical models. The drying process was carried out using a closed-type heat pump drying (HPD)

Heat Pump for Low-Temperature Grain Drying
Transactions of the ASAE, 1983ABSTRACT REDUCED supplies of fossil fuels and the need for energy conservation have prompted investigation s of alternate heat sources for grain drying. This paper presents the development and testing of a low-temperature heat - pump grain dryer. The design technique and features of the prototype are discussed.

Drying: the role of heat pumps and electromagnetic fields
Physics in Technology, 1978An account is given of the drying process in air in order to illustrate how the nature of the drying process can be improved. A description is given of drying methods using heat pumps and steam recompression heat pumps, and of work performed on electromagnetic drying of paper at ...

Exergy analyses of heat pump drying system
MSIE 2011, 2011The technology of drying is centuries-old. It is apparent that drying itself is an energy-intensive process. Heat pump assisted-drying provides a controllable drying environment (temperature and humidity) for better products' quality at low energy consumption.

NEW APPLICATIONS OF HEAT PUMPS IN DRYING PROCESSES
Drying Technology, 1994ABSTRACT Heat pumps in combination with fluidized bed driers have been investigated extensively at The Norwegian Institute of Technology. A laboratory plant was constructed and a series of experiments on different types of temperature sensitive products were executed. By using heat pump, good temperature and humidity regulation is achieved.

Heat Pump Drying Kinetics of Spanish Cheese
International Journal of Food Engineering, 2008The manchego and mallorquin cheeses are produced under controlled conditions and long time is needed to develop unique texture and flavor. This traditional manufacturing method has challenges to be addressed by new technologies. Tests were performed to verify feasibility of application of heat pump technology for cheese drying and ripening.

Performance of a heat pump drier for copra drying
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part A: Journal of Power and Energy, 2008A heat pump drier is designed and fabricated to investigate its performance for copra drying. The experiments are carried out at 40 °C drying air temperature with a velocity of 1.5 m/s. The results showed that moisture content (wet basis) of the coconut is reduced from 52.6 to 8.5 per cent in 48 h.
