Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

A comparative analysis of heat pipe and rotary regenerative heat exchangers
In this study, a mathematical modeling study combined with experimental part of a heat pipe heat exchanger (THEX) was performed. Then, the rotary type regenerative heat exchanger (RHEX), which is widely used in heat recovery applications, is also ...

Transient Heat Transfer Analytical Model for Low-melting-point-metal Phase Change Material Heat Sink
This paper presents a low-melting-point-metal phase change material/air natural convective cooling combined heat sink for the thermal control requirement with transient thermal shock. A theoretical transient heat transfer analytical model is established,

Effect of Heat Stress on the Potassium Requirement of the Hen
Four diets were formulated with potassium levels ranging from 0.4 to 1.0% and each diet was fed to laying hens at temperatures of 26.7%, 32.2, and 37.8 degrees C. Analyses for potassium in the plasma, egg, and excreta and potassium retained were used to determine the effects of heat stress on the potassium balance of laying hens.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...
