A transient inflammatory response contributes to oxaliplatin neurotoxicity in mice
Abstract Objectives Peripheral neuropathy is a relevant dose‐limiting adverse event that can affect up to 90% of oncologic patients with colorectal cancer receiving oxaliplatin treatment. The severity of neurotoxicity often leads to dose reduction or even premature cessation of chemotherapy.

UNCONTROLLED PHOTOMULTIPLIER CURRENT IN PHOTOEMISSION ANALYSIS
The dependence of photon energy from energy of photoelectron is base of photoemission radiation analysis. In such photoemission measurements except current of photocathode is always exist a reverse current from the collector of electrons to the ...

Advances and Outlooks of Heat Transfer Enhancement by Longitudinal Vortex Generators [PDF]
In the last several decades, heat transfer enhancements using extended surface (fins) has received considerable attentions. A new heat transfer enhancement technique, longitudinal vortex generators (LVG), has received significant attention since the 1990s.

Ignition Delay and Reaction Time Measurements of Hydrogen–Air Mixtures at High Temperatures
Induction and reaction times of hydrogen–air mixtures (ϕ = 0.5–2) have been measured behind reflected shock waves at temperatures of 1000–1600 K, pressures of 0.1, 0.3, 0.6 MPa in the domain of the extended second explosion limit.

Many body heat radiation and heat transfer in the presence of a non-absorbing background medium [PDF]
Heat radiation and near-field radiative heat transfer can be strongly manipulated by adjusting geometrical shapes, optical properties, or the relative positions of the objects involved. Typically these objects are considered as embedded in vacuum. By applying the methods of fluctuational electrodynamics, we derive general closed-form expressions for ...

Heat transfer across a vacuum gap induced by piezoelectrically mediated acoustic phonon tunneling [PDF]
In contradictin to the common concept that acoustic phonons can only travel inside a material medium, they can in fact "tunnel" across a vacuum gap with the help of piezoelectricity, transmitting a significantly stronger heat flux than that of blackbody radiation.

Diphthamide synthesis is linked to the eEF2‐client chaperone machinery
The diphthamide modification of eukaryotic translation elongation factor 2 (eEF2) is important for accurate protein synthesis. We addressed the potential coordination of de novo eEF2 synthesis with simultaneous or subsequent diphthamide modification. Our work reveals that the co‐chaperones Hgh1 and Cpr7, which are known to support folding of nascent ...

Conductive and convective heat transfer in inductive heating of subsea buried pipelines [PDF]
Inductive heating with high-voltage cables reduces the risk of hydrate formation by raising the temperature of the production fluid in pipelines. Heating the pipeline results in losing a certain fraction of the heat to the surrounding soil through conduction or convection-dominated flow through the soil.
