Parametric assessment of a building active façade by means of a combined metallic sandwich panel with an unglazed solar collector [PDF]
The building sector has a poor performance in terms of energy efficiency and is looking for alternatives to reduce the use of fossil fuels on building use stage.

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

EFFICIENCY OF HEAT PUMPS USE ON RAILWAY TRANSPORT
The article reviews the history of invention of heat pumps, as well as the physical processes occurring during their operation. The main attention is paid to the efficiency of thermal energy utilization for space heating, heating of process water in the cold season and air conditioning in the warm season.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Evaluation of Heating Efficiency Increase Using a Simple Heat Recovery Unit
Heating in the winter is one of the human activities that consumes the most energy, thereby affecting the environment and leaving a carbon footprint. An increase in heating efficiency results in a reduction in the energy demand of the process and environmental protection. This contribution aimed to determine and experimentally verify the possibility of

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

High temperature refractory member with radiation emissive overcoat [PDF]
A radiation type heat dissipator for use in a plasma engine is formed of a refractory metal layer upon which there is deposited a radiation emissive coating made of a high emissivity material such as zirconium diboride. The radiation emissive coating has
