Uniform and Non-uniform Thermoelement Subject to Lateral Heat Convection

International Journal of Thermophysics, 2013
A general energy equation of quasi-one-dimensional heat flow in a longitudinal thermoelement (TE) of a curved side that is subjected to an electric field and convection heat transfer on the curved surface is developed. The energy equation is solved for the temperature distribution in two cases; uniform cross-section TE and non-uniform cross-section TE.

Temperature distributions in fins with uniform and non-uniform heat generation and non-uniform heat transfer coefficient

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1987
Abstract Temperature distributions in a straight fin of rectangular profile (or in a cylindrical fin) with uniform and non-uniform internal heat-generation characteristics and non-uniform heat transfer coefficients are derived analytically. The heat transfer coefficient is assumed to be a power function of the difference between the temperature of ...

Design of Greenhouse Heat Control Scheme: Uniform Heat Transfer Approach

2020 International Conference on Information and Communication Technology Convergence (ICTC), 2020
This paper presents a control scheme of a uniform heating algorithm reflecting the heat transfer characteristics in the greenhouse. This paper proposes an optimal heat pipe control scheme which considers four-factor: 1) heat water temperature 2) volume heating load 3) emitting heating load and 4) heating load on heat pipe.

Heat Balance Limits in Football Uniforms

The Physician and Sportsmedicine, 2002
Football season becomes a danger zone when warm weather collides with the need for protective gear. Researchers determined critical heat balance limits in non-heat-acclimatized men who wore various football uniform ensembles. The air temperature and humidity limits that they identified are helpful in implementing strategies to prevent heat-related ...

Heat Distribution in a Uniform Bar

Nature, 1932
THE theory of the potential distribution in a long cable when the head end is insulated after being maintained for some time at a steady potential has been given recently.1 It was pointed out that the reasoning would apply equally well to the case of a long uniform bar which is allowed to cool after one end has been heated.

A Microwave Heating System for Improving Temperature Uniformity in Heated Tissue*

Journal of Microwave Power, 1979
A microwave heating system, designed to improve temperature uniformity in heated tissue, is described. The system employs parallel-opposed waveguide applicators, operating in the TE10 mode at 2450 MHz with the tissue to be heated (i.e. mouse intestine) immersed in a liquid which is both biologically compatible with and dielectrically similar to the ...

Similarites and Differences Between Single-Side and Uniform Heating for Fusion Applications–I: Uniform Heat Flux

Fusion Technology, 1994
Quantitative correlation factors and functions are derived that relate the inside peak heat fluxes for cases involving either a single-side or a uniform external heat flux, which is applied to a ci...

Assessment of Heating Rate and Non-uniform Heating in Domestic Microwave Ovens

Journal of Microwave Power and Electromagnetic Energy, 2012
Due to the inherent nature of standing wave patterns of microwaves inside a domestic microwave oven cavity and varying dielectric properties of different food components, microwave heating produces non-uniform distribution of energy inside the food. Non-uniform heating is a major food safety concern in not-ready-to-eat (NRTE) microwaveable foods.

Transient natural convection in a vertical microchannel heated at uniform heat flux

International Journal of Thermal Sciences, 2012
Abstract Miniaturization of devices has received a rapid expansion in the recent years and a great volume of research activities have been dedicated to micro-flow due to its new applications of micro-fluidic systems and components. In the present paper, an investigation of transient natural convection in parallel-plate vertical microchannels is ...

The Response of Uniform Bodies to Heating

1996
This chapter will present theories of the thermodynamics of some simple materials. While we already possess the generic laws necessary for dynamics (Chapter 1), we cannot really claim to know how certain types of bodies will behave when subjected to heating. Only specific constitutive laws allow for the actual creation of theories of dynamics.
