Energy, 2010
The internally heat-integrated distillation column (HIDiC) is a complex column configuration which is more energy efficient than the equivalent conventional column or the distillation column with direct vapor recompression scheme (VRC). Exploiting the heat integration between two diabatic sections operating at different pressures of the HIDiC can ...

Rewetting of an infinite tube with a uniform heating
Heat and Mass Transfer, 2002The two-dimensional quasi-steady conduction equation governing conduction controlled rewetting of an infinite tube, with outer surface flooded and the inside surface subjected to a constant heat flux, has been solved by Wiener–Hopf technique. The solution yields the quench front temperature as a function of various model parameters such as Peclet ...

Modeling the spatially-uniform heating of liquids
Journal of engineering physics, 1970An apparatus for achieving the spatially-uniform heating of a liquid up to 80 liters in volume, with a superheating of up to 3–4°C and a pulsed type of boiling, is described; electrolytic heating is employed, the layers next to the electrodes being insulated by means of ion-exchange membranes.

Natural Convection in a Partitioned Vertical Enclosure Heated With a Uniform Heat Flux
Journal of Heat Transfer, 2006This numerical study looks at laminar natural convection in an enclosure divided by a partition with a finite thickness and conductivity. The enclosure is assumed to be heated using a uniform heat flux on a vertical wall, and cooled to a constant temperature on the opposite wall.

Uniform Channel Micro Heat Exchangers
Journal of Electronic Packaging, 1997The performance characteristics of micro heat exchangers consisting of straight channels fabricated in a silicon wafer and operating with liquid nitrogen are evaluated theoretically. The three-dimensional conjugate temperature and flow fields are calculated numerically.

Uniform distortion of a heated turbulent wake
2005A slightly heated, cylinder-generated turbulent wake subjected to a constant and uniform rate of strain has been investigated by means of digital sampling and processing techniques. Statistical properties of the interface separating turbulent fluid and contiguous non-turbulent fluid, and of the temperature and streamwise velocity fields have been ...

Flow obstacle effect on film boiling heat transfer with uniform and non-uniform axial heat flux
2013An experimental investigation of the effects of axial flux distribution (AFD) and obstacles on film-boiling heat transfer was performed in a vertical tube using HFC-134a as coolant. The following parameters were examined: (1) Axial flux profiles (uniform, inlet-peak and outlet-peak), (2) Flow-blockage ratios (12% and 24%), (3) Obstacle pitches (150 mm ...
