Processes with heavy ion collisions
Physics of Particles and Nuclei, 2011Some Coulomb effects in heavy ion collisions are considered. Among them the process of muon and lepton pair creation, Coulomb and unitary corrections, statistics of multiple pair production. Effects of mul- tiple photon exchange in process of lepton pair production by linearly polarized photon on nuclei are consid- ered.

Microscopic description of heavy ion collisions
Nuclear Physics A, 1990Abstract We solve numerically the Boltzmann Nordheim Vlasov equation and apply it to calculate physical observables. The collision term is treated in the mean free path approximation and checked for an exactly soluble problem. We calculate particle spectra produced in heavy ion collisions around the Fermi energy.

The study of heavy ion collisions is motivated by the desire to probe properties of nuclear matter under unusual. conditions. Depending on the energy of the beam and the impact parameter of the collision, different phenomena are observed. A survey of typical experimental data and their interpretations are presented.

Heavy-Ion Collisions: Experimental Highlights
Nuclear Physics A, 2009Lattice QCD predicts a phase transition between hadronic matter and a system of deconfined quarks and gluons (the Quark Gluon Plasma) at high energy densities. Our current understanding of this new state of matter will be discussed with two key results from the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC).
