Heavy-ion reactions at the GSI Darmstadt

open access: yes, 1998
In nucleus-nucleus collisions at bombarding energies on the order of 1 AGeV nuclear matter can be compressed to similar densities as encountered in stellar processes, i.e. to 2-3 times normal density.

Atomized Oxidative Polymerization as a 3D Printing Platform for Binder‐Free, Bulk Conductive Polymer Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐delivery of electrosprayed EDOT and oxidant enables bulk oxidative polymerization during layer‐by‐layer fabrication, creating stable, highly conductive 3D PEDOT structures. This Atomized Oxidative Polymerization (AOP) overcomes the surface deposition‐only and matrix‐limited conductivity of conventional Vapor Phase Polymerization (VPP) and PEDOT:PSS ...

Steering Oxygen Activation Pathways via Redox Dual‐Defects in 2D Hydrated WO3 for High‐Yield Singlet Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Redox dual‐defects (Cs substitution and O vacancies) in 2D hydrated WO3 steer O2 activation toward selective singlet oxygen evolution. WO‐CO achieves 8.6–15.8 times higher 1O2 production than single‐defect or pristine catalysts, enabling efficient pollutant mineralization via a pathway‐selective photocatalytic mechanism.

Behaviour of heavy metals in soils

open access: yes, 1977
Fractions of Zn, Cd, Cu, Pb, Fe and Mn extractable with water, a salt solution and dilute acid, and residual fractions were determined in soils with raised contents of heavy metals, near zinc smelters, along a river formerly discharging heavy metals, and

Resonances and nuclear molecular configurations in heavy-ion reactions

open access: yes, 2004
This paper presents a review of the phenomenon of resonances in heavy-ion reactions from the molecular-configuration standpoint. It gives an up-to-date list of recent experimental data (Sect. 2), reviews some of the basic models of resonances (Sect.

A Topic in Heavy-Ion Reactions

open access: yesJournal of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan / Atomic Energy Society of Japan, 1976

Transfer reactions with heavy ions

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1973
Abstract A simple model is derived for angular distributions in heavy ion transfer reactions which takes into account the dynamic as well as the quantal dispersion of the wave packet.

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Improved ion guide for heavy-ion fusion-evaporation reactions

open access: yes, 1998
The ion guide for heavy-ion-induced reactions developed originally for the SARA facility in Grenoble has been implemented at the Jyvaskyla IGISOL facility.
